Dogwood Festival, Fairfield
Friday, May 1st - Sunday May 3rd
For 80 years and counting, members of Greenfield Hill Congregational Church and thousands across Fairfield County have celebrated the beauty of spring with the Dogwood Festival. The Dogwood Festival offers a variety of entertainment for all ages featuring local history and culture. Admission is FREE and proceeds benefit charities near and far.
Enchanted Garden Fairy and Wizard Festival, Bethlehem
Friday, May 1st
Find the wishing tree. Sit in the enchanted magnolia grove. The house will feature floral displays & fairy garden houses for the month of May.
Community Free Day at the Florence Griswold Museum, Old Lyme
Saturday, May 2nd
Visitors can tour the art exhibitions and historic Florence Griswold House for free. Balloon art, magic shows, family tours are all part of the day.
Donkey and Mule Festival at Bishop's Orchards, Guilford
Saturday May 2nd
There will be over 20 classes throughout the day, including halter, showmanship, coon jumping, costume, driving, riding, and obstacles. Along with the Donkey & Mule Show, wagon rides will be running throughout the day on a guided tour of the orchard with beautiful views of the apple trees in blossom. FREE
Sunday, May 3rd
50 kid-friendly exhibitors offer information on social, recreational, cultural and educational activities. Enjoy a day chock full of ideas for your family to get the very most out of summer.
Ringling Bros. & Barnum Circus, XL Center, Hartford

Be astonished by unexpected circus spectacles you’ve never seen before and that can’t be seen anywhere else but at The Greatest Show On Earth®.
Festival of the Arts at Quassy Amusement Park, Middlebury
Saturday, May 9th
Sidewalk chalk art competition for elementary, middle and high school teams. Jazz bands will be performing in the Carousel Theatre and there will be a trash can art competition.
The Hindley Happening, Darien
Saturday, May 9th
The event includes carnival rides, games, cotton candy and snow cones, as well as a silent auction that includes donations from local merchants and individuals that range from fabulous vacations to personal training sessions to sporting event tickets.
Run Like a Mother 5K, Ridgefield
Sunday, May 10
A 5K women's only race with a 1 mile kid's run. It's a race and celebration of Mother's Day, fun and fitness with a great post race event.

Annual Spring on the Farm Stamford Museum and Nature Center, Stamford

Robin Hood Springtime Festival, New Haven

Bring the family to this Medieval Festival and learn the steps of courtly dance. Challenge the Black Knight to a duel and take arms in their “Smite the Knight” ring located at the Hitting & Stabbing Emporium. Stroll down the Kids Alley for games designed for younger guests. Mystic Seaport will pay tribute to fallen Civil War soldiers during the Museum’s annual Decoration Day ceremony. Activities are planned throughout the day.
Wethersfield Fireworks, Wethersfield

Starting at 5pm, there will be festivities and local organizations there to celebrate Summer, our Community, and Wethersfield as a destination town to live, work and play.
Celebration of Young Writers Event and Auction, Washington
Saturday, May 30th
The evening will begin at 5pm with a cocktail reception at the beautiful Gunnery School Dining Hall in Washington. Featured celebrity readers will include Ellen McCourt, Jack Gilpin, Mia Farrow, Rose Styron and others.The reception will include live and silent auctions, with all proceeds benefiting ASAP, the After School Arts Program. At 7pm guests will be treated to readings of poetry and prose written by 12 talented young writers from Connecticut. Families welcome.
