Fall

We love to make an outing in the Fall to find a few perfect pumpkins to bring home for carving. With so many beautiful farms in Litchfield County it's not hard to find a patch for picking. Many come with extra entertainment like apple picking, hay rides and corn mazes. Here are a few of our favorites:

If having your kids do the whole door-to-door asking for candy thing creeps you out, there is a simpler, and safer alternative these days.  Trunk-or-treats confine the confections to a central location, and many of them aim to keep the mayhem at a minimum for young children.  They also start quite early, so you aren't dealing with the dark or any downright scary bedtime meltdowns.  Some of these organized events also add more fun to the mix with food, activities, and campfires.  How cozy!
