Me

The most interesting and life-changing parenting book I've read.

The Big Kid

My daughter loved this so much, we read it aloud to the whole family. Then moved on to the next one. (grade 3 and up)

Bad Kitty is hilarious as he works his way through an alphabet of naughtiness.

Things to do with kids: President's Day Weekend Fun in Connecticut (Fairfield County)

Most winters, when President's Day rolls around, we are happy to camp out in our pajamas, go sledding, and drink some hot cocoa with marshmallows.  This year, with the unusually warm winter, we're kind of itching to get out and do some things. Check out these local events - we may see you there!

President's Day Scholastic Chess Tournament, Norwalk, CT

Join the Fairfield County Chess Club on February 20th for their Scholastic Chess Tournament.  Open to grades K-8, the for fee is $30 for members, $50 for non-members.  Advanced registration is required, and check in time is 8:30-8:45.

710 West Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06850  203.505.6215

Lakeside Pottery Potter's Wheel Workshop - Stamford, CT

Wondering if pottery might be a great creative outlet for your teenager?  Sign him or her up for Lakeside Pottery's one day potter's workshop.  The class will be held February 19th from 1-3:30, for students 15 and older.  The cost of the class is $56.

543 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT 06905  203.323.2222

Behind the Scenes at the Maritime Aquarium, Norwalk, CT

Go behind the scenes for a tour of the Maritime Museum.  Feed the stingrays and sharks, learn about how the aquarium runs, and what it takes to take care of the animals.  Open to ages 10 and up; participants under age 15 must be accompanied by an adult.  The cost is $32.50 for non-members, and $22.50 for members.

10 North Water Street, Norwalk, CT 06854  203.852.0700

Pinkalicious the Musical at the Downtown Cabaret Theater, Bridgeport, CT

Hurry, hurry to see the Downtown Cabaret Theater's production of Pinkalicious the Musical.  The last performance is Sunday February 19th.  Tickets are $18, and the adventure is one that little girls will not soon forget!

263 Golden Hill Street, Bridgeport, CT 06604  203.576.1636

Student Theatre Showcase, Fairfield, CT

Visit the Fairfield Historical Society at 1pm on February 19th for an hour of improv, musical theater, and skits from local student actors.  The hour and a half program costs $5, and is free for children under 10.

370 Beach Road, Fairfield, CT 06824  203.259.1598

Plenty to keep you busy if there's no snow...but who knows?  Best to keep the hot chocolate ready, just in case!
