CicLAvia - Melrose
CicLAvia celebrates its 50th event with a 4-mile car-free route along Melrose Avenue, extending from Fairfax to Vermont.
Participants just show up anywhere along the route at any time to enjoy the open streets and to take the time to explore our city. CicLAvia invites people to walk, jog, bike, roller skate, skate, or simply spectate
CicLAvia is derived from a Spanish term for "bike path" and its goal is to turn LA into one big bike path, if just for a few hours. People are encouraged to leave their cars at home and bike, walk, skateboard, or push a stroller to discover our beautiful city at non-motorized speeds. CicLAvia offers a wide variety of activities for people of all interests and ages, including music, performances, food trucks galore, and more.
The three hubs for this event are at Fairfax, Gower (called the Melrose hub), and Vermont.
Hubs have restrooms, free water refilling stations, free basic bike repair, bike parking, and first aid. In addition, free pedicab rides courtesy of AARP are available at each information booth.
