A Noise Within brings back its popular annual production of the Dickens classic. Production quality is high, with beautiful costumes, fun ghost effects, and a large, talented cast presenting a highly traditional rendition of the Victorian Christmas tale of goodwill to all men.
For parents wondering if this is the right choice for young kids, note that the ghosts in this production are fairly tame, but much of Charles Dickens' beautiful but wordy original language is used. The density of the language, combined with 90 minutes of action without interval, would make this tough for anyone younger than 7 to sit through. That said, it's a lovely holiday treat for slightly older kids and adults.
A Pay-What-You-Choose performance gives theatregoers the choice to buy a $10 or $20 ticket for the 7pm performance on Saturday, December 2.
A Relaxed Performance is offered on Sunday, December 3 at 11am. At this fully inclusive performance, the play is edited down to 45 to 60 minutes in length, and lights and sound are reduced to make a welcoming environment for those who are distracted or upset by startling sounds or light changes. The house lights stay on during the performance, to ensure a safe environment for the audience and allow for easy movement around the theatre. (For questions about this performance, contact Alicia Green via email.)
