Día y Noche de los Muertos at Hollywood Forever
The annual Día de los Muertos event at Los Angeles’s oldest memorial park is the nation's largest Day of the Dead event, celebrating the memories of loved ones with ceremonial tributes and extravagant altar creations amidst some of the city's most famous departed. Separate day and evening events are made memorable with music, dance, and exotic costumes and decor throughout the park.
This year's event, Máscaras de México - Vida y Muerte en La Máscara, is an immersive experience that pays homage to the rich cultural heritage of Mexico and Latin America through the art and symbolism of masks.
"Día de los Muertos” and “Noche de los Muertos” are two separate, ticketed events again in 2023. The daytime event is geared more towards families and distinctly kid-friendly, but both events are open to all ages.
Guests can enjoy traditional indigenous dance and cultural performers, altars, art exhibitions, and culinary vendors. The daytime event features a children's village with interactive activities, storytelling sessions, and mask-making workshops. The evening event is headlined by internationally acclaimed Colombian band Bomba Estéreo, as well as Las Cafeteras, Bratty, Camila Fernández, and Banda Las Angelinas.
Children 5 and up require a ticket. No pets, food, or alcohol may be brought onto the grounds.
