Weekday Picks for Connecticut Kids: Puppets, Gadgeteers, and 4-H Fair August 10 - 14

Before we know it, summer will be over so it's time to get out there and enjoy some fun events.  We've rounded up some of our favorite activities for the week from across the state, from a national puppet festival  to a 4-H Fair  to a gadeteer workshop, and so much more. Monday, August 10
2015 National Puppetry Festival at UConn – Storrs
26 national and international performances will take over the Storrs campus. In addition, 30 professional workshops and master classes, six exhibitions, a parade, outdoor spectacles, and many other events will take place.

Tuesday, August 11
Kid's Entertainment Series  – Plantsville/Southington
Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy an evening of free entertainment. All ages are welcome! Tonight enjoy "Mr. Magic," by Rich Rothstein and then The Amazing Andy show. Free.

Take Part In Art at Weir Farm – Wilton
Discover your inner artist while sketching outside with art supplies provided on site, whether graphite pencils, colored pencils, or chalk pastels.

Mini and Junior Gadgeteers – Norwalk
Learn about devices and inventions of all sorts and sizes in different activities guided by Dr. J – the head gadgeteer at Stepping Stones. There are different classes for different age groups.

Hartford County 4-H Fair – Somers
Head to the 4_H Fair for three days full of exhibits and activities with livestock shows, demonstrations, horse draws, live bands, children's entertainment, food, and much more.
