The main event isn't until Saturday, but there's Halloween fun to be had all over Connecticut this week. There are activities for kids of all ages and interests, from storybook characters to cooking to sea creatures. Give a Treat, Get a Treat – Canton
Kids 10 and under are invited to donate a non-perishable food item. In return they will receive a free bag for trick or treating in the Shoppes at Farmington.

Halloween Cupcake Decorating Class at Stew Leonard's Newington
Keep your own kitchen tidy and bring your toddlers to Stew Leonard's where they will decorate Halloween-themed cupcakes. Not a drop off activity. Parents are required to stay. Preregistration required.

The Enchanted Castle – Fairfield
Young children will love this non-scary experience at the Burr Homestead where every room is decorated with a different storybook theme including Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, the Little Mermaid, and more. (Note: strollers are not permitted.)

Sea Scare at the Mystic Aquarium – Mystic
See what goes bump in the night when the lights go out at the Mystic Aquarium. Don't miss the underwater pumpkin carving!

Darien Halloween Parade and Magic Show – Darien
Preschoolers and their parents meet in downtown Darien (across from Post Corner Pizza) to trick or treat at local merchants before enjoying a magic show in Tilley Pond Park.
